Grant Associates worked on the masterplan and design development for a new sustainable community in Gojar, on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park near Granada.

The 250-hectare site includes a residential development, a landmark hotel and spa project, and an ecological golf course. It also features a 60-hectare landscape theme park, the Jardin del Agua, which explores the historical role of water in the Andalusian landscape.

The whole project aims to achieve high standards of ecological performance, including innovative water management, low-energy systems and enhanced biodiversity. Particular emphasis is placed on merging the social hubs, pedestrian routes and open space network with the specific landscape qualities of the site and taking advantage of spectacular views to the mountain backdrop.
